Deadlock Map Guide: Lanes, Districts, and Objectives

Deadlock's map is The Cursed Apple, a haunted reimagining of New York City filled with skyscrapers, tight streets, and an underground tunnel network. Every match plays out across three lanes, four themed districts, and a jungle of neutral Haunt camps, breakables, and contested objectives.

Learning the deadlock map means knowing where to farm, where to fight, and when the important events come up. This guide covers the layout, the lanes, the districts, the jungle, and the major objectives, using the most recent in-game details available.

The Cursed Apple: Layout and Layers

The Cursed Apple sits on two main layers: the Street level above and the Underground below. The Underground is a network of tunnels and basements that gives you a second route to rotate and farm. A recent map update opened up those tunnels, making them bigger and less cramped, while slightly reducing the boxes found down there.

The newer patch also added far more verticality across the map. There are more rooftops, vents, and hiding spots, and players use them to ambush enemies moving toward camps or objectives. Movement options include Ziplines, hero tunnels, Teleporters, bounce pads, steam vents, and climb ropes.

The map splits into two sides. One side is associated with the Hidden King, whose jungle camps sit close together for fast farming, while the other is Archmother, whose camps are spread farther apart. Players describe the Archmother side as slightly weaker overall (unconfirmed).

Lanes and Districts

The deadlock map has three lanes, each with its own color and name. The left, yellow lane is York; the middle, blue lane is Broadway; and the right, green lane is Greenwich.

Minions spawn and march down each lane periodically, so most of the early game plays out there. The lanes hold structures such as Guardians and Walkers, plus Ziplines you can ride to cross the map quickly.

Beyond the lanes, the city is divided into four thematic districts: Theater, Chinatown, Haunted Lot, and Plaza. Each district has its own style of Haunts and its own landmarks and events, from the Bell Tower in Chinatown to the Sunken Plaza in the northwest.

Jungle and Haunt Camps

The space between the lanes is called the Jungle. It holds no minions and no lane structures, but it is packed with Haunt camps, neutral objectives that either team can clear for a large burst of Souls.

Haunt camps come in tiers, from small camps up to large camps. According to data read from the game's own config files, the map holds 40 neutral camps in total: four small camps, 25 medium camps, and 11 large camps.

The spawn timers for those camps are as follows. Small camps first spawn at 2:00 and respawn 1:25 after a full clear. Medium camps first spawn at 5:00 and respawn 4:50 later. Large camps first spawn at 8:00 and respawn 5:35 after being cleared.

Mid Boss and the Rejuvenator Crystal

The Mid Boss is the map's most powerful neutral objective. It spawns at match start, and after it is killed it respawns 7:00 later, then 1:00 sooner each time down to a 5:00 minimum.

Defeating the Mid Boss and breaking its Rejuvenator Crystal grants the Rejuvenator buff to the entire team. That buff allows up to three revives upon death, which can swing a late-game team fight on its own.

The Mid Boss sits in its own central arena. Crates and golden statues above it first spawn at 10:00 and respawn 3:00 after being cleared.

Breakables and Soul Farming

Breakable objects are scattered across the map, and clearing them while you rotate is an efficient way to farm Souls. The main types are Crates, Tough Crates, Buff Containers, Healing snacks, and Golden statues. Most breakables first spawn around 3:00 and respawn 3:00 after being destroyed, and you can break most of them with melee attacks, shots, or by dashing through them.

Crates and golden statues number 548 across the map, first spawning at 3:00 and respawning 3:00 after a full clear. Crates and statues in the tunnels number 81, spawning at 5:00 and respawning 5:00 later. Healing snacks, of which there are 36, first spawn at 3:00 and respawn 3:00 after pickup.

Tough Crates need a Heavy Melee to open and hold more Souls than a regular Crate. Buff Containers have a 50% chance to drop a permanent stat buff when broken. Sinner's Sacrifice machines drop Souls with every hit and grant a permanent buff when you win their Jackpot.

There are 11 Sinner's Sacrifice machines, first spawning at 8:00 and respawning 5:00 after clearing. Shops, eight in total, sit around the map, and two Bridge buffs first spawn at 5:00 and refresh every 5:00.

Golden statues also carry permanent buffs, and the recent patch added new ones such as bullet resist, spirit resist, ability range, and movement speed. The Broker is a time-limited store that can corrupt your items into stronger versions with random stat nerfs, but it was removed from Standard and Ranked matches on Oct 2, 2026, and Valve has teased it may return later.

Soul Urns and Unstable Rifts

The Soul Urn is a mid-game objective that asks one player to pick it up and carry it to the opposite side of the map. While carrying, you gain mobility buffs, but getting stunned or hit by a melee attack drops the Urn in place. The rewards make your character considerably stronger, so prioritize the Urn when it spawns, but coordinate with your team so your lane structures are not left defenseless.

There are two Soul Urn spawns, first appearing at 10:00 and then every 5:00 with the sides alternating. Delivering the Urn spawns Soul Orbs and Buff Containers for your team.

Unstable Rifts are King of the Hill events that appear in the left or right lanes. Two spawn between 14:00 and 16:00. The capturing team earns a large share of Souls and spawns extra Rift Troopers that are stronger than regular minions.

Notable Landmarks: Sunken Plaza and the Bell Tower

The Sunken Plaza sits below the Plaza district in the northwest of the map. It is a large Haunt camp with Buff Containers and Crates inside, which makes it very contested, but your stamina drains while you are down there and visibility is limited.

Below it, a pit holds two creep camps, two Sinner's Sacrifices, and a stack of boxes and statues that all first spawn at 8:00. The risky spot connects to a secret shop, which is the safest escape route if you get caught.

The Chinatown Bell Tower stands on the higher ground of the Chinatown district. It holds three bells with Souls inside, but each bell rings when collected, alerting nearby enemies.

A newer tower in the Chinese section holds three Sinner's Sacrifices, four lock boxes, and two golden statues, and hitting anything there triggers a gong that carries across a wide area. It has a single zipline entrance and exit, making it a high-risk, high-reward farm.
